La Machine:Thursday.. haven't had a chance to go see today, but there's some nice piccys of its' removal from Concourse Tower, and setting up at La Base here
You going in to town tomorrow at all? Or do you know when you're popping over on Sat or Sun. I'm going to be there, but I'll be getting the train. Somehow I don't think there's going to be anywhere to park in Liverpool for the next 3 days!
My mobile is 07985 185382 if you want to give me a text.
And are you still up for Serenity later this month? I need to change the hotel booking to 2 people (instead of just me in a double room) if you are. And you'll need a ticket for the show.
OK, help me out here. I know that it was displayed at the Camel Laird shipyards and at the Concourse Building by Lime St, so is the exhibit being moved around Liverpool from day to day? I am confused...
It was being put together at Cammell Laird's ie It wasn't meant to have been seen there, top secret etc etc. Myself and N just grabbed a sneaky peak, because we saw a leaked photo of where they were working on it.
It's a moving arts theatre thing. So the story starts that:
Supposedly due to the demolition work, a spider has awoken, and crawled out onto the Concourse Tower. 'Scientists' have supposedly said that the reason it was lit up last night was to stop it from laying eggs, which could be disastrous. (Stay with me here!) They've now taken it to the new Echo Arena, and tomorrow sees it 'experimented' on, and having a bath by Albert Docks.
Saturday it'll be walking around the town centre, with various stops for musical pieces/effects/snow storms/fire and waterfall things..
Then Sunday there's a big finale, in which the Birkenhead tunnel is going to play a large part.
It's actually operated by 12 people sitting underneath, and is pretty incredible looking.
To give you an idea of the kind of scale, and thing.. the same company did 'The Sultan's Elephant' down in London a while back: http://www.thesultanselephant.com/gallery/gallery.php
And this thing is bigger supposedly. They keep a lot of it top secret until the day itself, kind of letting the tale unfold.
