*Boing* Well that went swimmingly...
My set was 11.30-12 after some blokey called Jex (Alex really), and went rather well. Well, it couldn't have gone much worse than poor Alex's. He played pop punk/skatery stuff that no one seemed to know, and hence didn't dance to.. at all.. the dancefloor absolutely emptied for his set. He seemed a nice chappy. When i had a chat with him, he seemed rather anxious that i'd bought over one of my Cd flight cases with me. I explained that is was a/ I hadn't known how long a set they'd wanted due to the vague e-mail and b/I prefer to have as much choice as possible regarding music variety to choose from.
He asked if I was "some sort of professional, or something". Bless..
Ho hum.. well the dancefloor was full for my set.. good sign :) And the main DJ (JJ?) seemed happy with it. No major hiccups.. peeps were even dancin' away to Tiamat.. kewlies. Half an hour is difficult to fuck up tho'.. play by numbers for the Krazy House mostly, with a few curveballs thrown in. If I win, I get an hour next Sat on the Halloween all nighter 12 midnight-1am. The witching hour *cackle*. All the signs for winning are looking good.. tho' I won't really mind if I don't.. I was surprised to get this far! It's all good experience, of playing a wide variety of stuff, to a different audience. It's ace looking out on that huge dancefloor, seeing people boogieing to stuff you're playing. It's a ego boost and a half.. and christ knows i need that sometimes (others would probably disagree!!)

/IF/ i get the set next week.. it'd be late enough so that my other plans for Samhain don't clash.. so that's acey too... yey! :)

Thanks to all those who showed their support.. and nattered to me.. loadsa peeps out that i recognized, including Kris, Lee, Kat and Dave, DollyMatt, Sarah of Whiplash and errm others.. (she finishes lamely..memory failing right now). Oh yeah, and a sneaky peek that revealed that Lisa was in the K2, when I went to get my coat to come home.. oh well.. she didn't catch my eye.. so no unpleasantness there to report.. wasn't in the mood for her to have a go at me.. we just tend to avoid each other these days. I'd quite happily talk to her.. but hey.. her loss, eh?? Life's too short to worry over it. She looked happy anyways, which is good..

I'm sure there's other stuff left over from THINGS I'VE DONE THIS WEEK to report, but, you know.. I can't be arsed right now...
Plus.. a bit of news that deserves it's own post..
Will sort it when I can.. as well as some setlists, including Midian...

Cheerio for now, hope everyone down in Lodnod is having fun..
Snack of Primula and chick chick on malted toast..mmmm.. ready for bed now :)
Night night

Sounds like it went great. Hope you win. :)

Sorry I couldn't be there - standby from midnight anyway, and the work thing earlier on drained my energy.
