'Lo LJ land..
Whilst i understand and appreciate the sentiment behind giving Christmas cards, a few little pointers should you wish to furnish us with one*..
a/ We don't really 'do' Christmas in this house, Yule yup, but Christmas, no..**
b/ I'd much prefer a donation to a charity of your choosing on our behalf, no matter how small the amount. An e-mail comment, or LJ comment, is appreciated if you do this. *cough* and *ahem* and *yeah*
c/ Anyone passing along our postal address without checking with us first will be hung, drawn and quartered (Goes for telephone numbers too, incidentely). I'm weird like that. E-mail is different as we're publically listed.
d/ Imaginative e-cards are fun.
If you do still want to give us a card as an expression of good wishes etc:
a/ I like cards people have made themselves..
b/ It's nice to get cards with a bit of a message/letter type note in them. Cards that just have your name and the name of the sender in them.. erm what's the point?
c/ Or alternatively: Recycled/charity cards are love
*sigh* I sound like a right pretenious old fart, but I'm steadily turning into a grumpy old woman about such matters. As a side note, i won't be sending out mass Yule cards, only to very very close friends and family, so please don't be offended, or take it personally if you don't recieve one back.
Thank you for understanding
gxx

*Not that I'm expecting, or requesting one from anyone reading, you understand!
**Disclaimer. But tasteful sparkly lights and black tinsel trees are fun the whole year round :)
