An amusing night..
Do the flyers, posters, music, smoke etc not give HUGE clues to some people. The Boothill Saloon is a rock bar, and as such open entry to all sorts. Hence the situation last night, were by several people were requesting rock tracks. The funniest was one middle-aged lady, who firstly asked for Bon Jovi, which i politly declined, then she asked for some ADCD (no I haven't made a typo.. that's what she asked for!!). I explained patiently over the strains of The Sisters.. that this was a goth night, and hence a/I did not have any, and b/Wouldn't have played it anyway. She looked crestfallen, looked thoughtful.. then pottered off to her friends. 5mins later she returned with a comedy gem:
"I don't know whether it exists, but my friends wanted to know whether you had a song called 'Can I bite the fuck out of your neck'?
To which, my reply you can imagine...but it did use the phrases "wind-up".. and "please go away now"..
The other funny one was a v.pissed guy in around his 60's.. trying to ask me requests while i was trying to change over tracks.. I directed him to the large sheet of paper with the word REQUESTS written at the top.. instead of trying to deafen me and challenge my sense of smell (nice BO)... Upon which he wrote very carefully and meticulously:
"My name is Jim. My Daughter said can you play Love To Hate by Deff (sic) Leppard."
At which I just about gave up..
