Rattling New Year braincells..

Hi there..
Thought I'd test the water of public opinion about this wee idea..

How do people think about the idea of a regular 'social' pub afternoon/night, alongside our regular Midian nights?

This would take the form of a monthly afternoon/early evening meet up at the Hev'n and Hell, Fleet Street, Liverpool. Running on a Sunday, the music would be more of a background, to give people a chance to converse, catch up, get to know each other better outside of the club situation, and just plain ol' gossip! There would be no charge to get in.. as mentioned.. this would be more of a social thing, with kewl background music.

The music policy would be low level background goth music. This would be things like ethereal and trad-type things, mixed with chilled out album tracks.. ie things you may not obviously normally hear within the club situation. We could sell mags.. and maybe even offer some stalls if there is interest..

We're currently thinking about using the third or forth Sunday each month for this. Glen (the manager) has mentioned that he's getting in a pool table this week.. so that will be running, plus tea, coffee, and the possibility of reduced price drinks if enough use this facility. And cake.. we could organise cake!!

It could be the ideal opportunity to talk to those you don't usually get a chance to in a club situation. A place to nurse a hangover, or organise other social meet ups from.

The original blue-print for Midian always stated that it was a wider thing than just the club night, a starting point for goth social events in the area..

So ideas.. Do you think this is a good plan? Would you drop in? Is there anything we could do to change it? What would you like to see?
