My parents have this unerring ability to gloss over the bleedin' obvious at times.
They're meant to be trotting off to a B&B in Shipton under Wychwood on Wednesday for a cycling holiday. Ahem. I've pointed out to them the many piccies of the locally flooded areas, and the fact that there is a warning about Shipton under Wychwood specifically here . My Dad has pooh-poohed them all, saying that they've got until Wednesday, and if they can't get down they'll just come back (?!). He's said he's not even going to bother to check the B&B is still taking guests, because after all 'they have my e-mail address and will let me know' *boggle*
So I'm after a bit of advice from locals..Is the flooding very localised? Are the pictures quite representative, or just at a few really bad points that can be negoitiated by different roads? Should it be worth their travelling, or are they just being bloody daft to even attempt it? Has anyone been through that way recently?
ION Still achey. Impressive looking scrapes and bruises though.. rawrgh!
