Midian needs you/Suggestions...

Firstly.. thanks loads for the turnout (to Midian) on Thursday.. it was great to
see so many, especially when it's an expensive time of year, and
students have yet to receive grants etc.. It was soo good to see you
all back together again in one place at the same time.. and hi to all
those to whom it may of been their first time at Midian.. Midian
virgins if you will :)

As Midian has received a bit of a facelift, what with a spanky new
venue, and new flyers, we want some new ideas. As Midian has always
been a Yahoo! group led night, we thought that we'd ask you what you
wanted to see at Midian. Sooo.. we're looking for ideas.. for themed
nights, for competitions, for future flyer designs, for room decor..
think of Midian as a blank canvas *grin*

Depending on whether we end up using your idea, and how much is put
into it, we may even be able to wangle some free entry passes for
you. Remember (as a wise goth Dane once said), the more you put into
the night, the more you get out of it.

So whether you'd like a Bond (bond, not bondage.. tho' that could be
fun too :) ) night... are a computer whizzkid with design...whether
you'd like a charity night... if you'd like to see a films night, or
have an idea for decor.. please get in touch.. to Tags, to myself or
Jason.. through the usual channels via e-mail, telepathy or
phonecall...

Also, get your thinking caps on, pinking shears out, and face paint
mixed for the next Midian on Thurs Oct 16th. As you may have seen on
the new flyers, we're putting on a pre-Hallowe'en fancy dress party
for the next Midian. So start thinking now for your favourite horror
character, a gothic wonder,the monster mash or just a cute ol'
ghostie. You don't have to spend loads.. the emphasis is on
imagination.. There'll be prizes given for the best.. including
plonk, and free entry passes to Midian. If you don't want to travel
in your oufits, please remember that we have large toilet facilities
for changing at the Lemon Lounge (for our gents.. i'm sure our
girlies wouldn't mind you sharing mirror space if you ask nicely!!)..
We'll have a gothic bran tub, and loadsa goodies to give out
throughout the night... ahh.. i love Hallowe'en.. even if it is in
the middle of Oct!!!

As this is the time when most students will be back, and new gothy
types will be about, we'd also ask another wee little favour. If you
know/or get to know anyone who hasn't been to Midian before.. please
invite them along.. as you know.. we'd love to see some new blood..
(mwahahaha.. *ahem* ) at the next Midian. Lets make it a busy one..
As an addition to this.. if you know anyone who'd be willing to put
out a few flyers.. or put one up in their window.. please get in
touch.. as we have plenty here looking for new homes to go to...

why does my update whassit not let me post in northwestweird, although as far as i know i'm a member of that community??

Just to update on a few things I've neglected to mention in the last few days...
Much goodness:
Stayed in last night snuggled up with jase, watching comedy stuff on telly.. was good to spend snuggles with each other.. spec' after my stresses of the last few days.. I know it may sound real mushy.. but I love him to bits..
My sister Clare, who lives in Leeds, sent me an early b'day pressie in the post this morning... mini Living Dead Doll to go with t'other mini one i have...Neil Gaiman's Endless Nights Special comic...Revenge of the Fillerbunny comic (source of pixiekix 's cute icon...carnelian jewellery.. and a Betty Boop card.. the girl is ace.. you wouldn't think I'm 28 on Tuesday tho'!!
Getting my new CD DJ decks from cash Converter from Liam's brother!!.. oohh.. my baby...they spanky.. and kewl..me like.. means i can DJ in more places now... just need a wee amp, so I can try them properly at home now. (can use headphones.. but not really same thing)
Mucho Midian folks turning up and boogying lots.. and some kewl thoughts on how to decorate the venue for hallowee'n..
Finally getting my psych referral thru' for the 30th Sept.. this is much earlier than i thought it'd be.. just really nervous about it now tho'...

Much pooness:
My Dad being admitted to Hospital with extremely high blood pressure.. ECGs, loads of tests etc and they still can't find out the root cause... he only went to the Docs cos' he had a buzzing noise in his ear!! I'm just glad that that was his warning sign.. the man in the next bed to my Dad had had a minor heart attack.. and he had a lower blood pressure than my Dad. Went to see him in hospital last night with one of my sisters,Lorna, my bro mark and my Mum. Hate hospitals.. my Dad's very bored, as I would be... far too stuffy in there too. Cheered my Dad up with some stupid stuff, and jokeyness.. he looked like he needed it. My Dad always takes on too much.. he's constantly doing stuff for the church he and my mum are part of. They rely on him FAR too much. He does lay preaching amongst other things there. Even while he's been in hos, my Mum has had phonecalls asking when he's back.. I understand the worthiness of praying for him.. i just wish they'd do some physical good first and stop mithering him.
I've also found out that after a break of over 10 years he's started smoking again.. this has made me very angry.. especially after how proud i was that he gave up in the first place, all those years ago. He also neglected to go back to his GP for check-ups, after they warned him his blood pressure may be getting high..this was about a year ago..
It makes me sad.. i want my dad to be about for when/if I ever have any grandkids for him.. I want him about for many more years yet.. it scares me to see my strong Dad so vunerable.. :(
But he's being looked after well.. and I'm sending him some good thoughts.. so hopefully he'll be ok...

Apart from that.. I'm in a surprisingly good mood today..
