After a pre-gig drinky in the Swan.. during which we met Kris, and discussed saturday's DJ showdown *g* at the Krappy House..

We tootled off to Swarf/John Foxx.. Thank fuck i won the guest list compy thingy, as the ticket on the door for Jason turned out to be a whopping £12.. at the Masque!?! Anyhoo.. Swarf were excellent.. Liz doing her best to hop through the mounds of electrical goodies on stage.. and getting a good reaction from a mostly middle-aged crowd.. very impressed. Really want to get these guys back up here at some point.

Got to have a bit of a natter with the three of 'em during the break 'bout general promotion stuff and the tour. Turns out they were really worried about getting bottled during the gig, as some local band called Automaton had also been scheduled to play, but the stage was FAR too small for all their gear too..and so they had been ditched for the night. Hastily reassured Swarfies that a/No one we knew had actually heard of them, and b/Most of the goths in attendence had turned up to see the swarfies themselves..

John Foxx + Louis Gordon (who?)were dull, I'm afraid.. even Lee seemed to be a bit unimpressed. I tried to like the middle-of-the-road 2nd rate Numanesque type noise issuing from the other room.. but I just didn't get it.. Meanwhile a couple of hundred of nuclear family types whooped with excitement, as their hero jigged a bit.. Hmm.. as noted to the Scousegoth crew, Liverpool's babysitters must have been raking it in last night. I felt kinda embarrassed for the guy.. you know the feeling when the pub drunk gets up to dance..or your dad feels fit to make some "moves" at a family wedding.. that kinda thing.. I suppose it sounds great at home...

So our time during their set was spent more productively nattering away to Steph, Brianna and Pete.. far more enjoyable.. by many leagues.. even tho' I probably bored them to tears..

Post gig.. a bit more nattering with the Swarfies, who have furnished me with a nice spankin' promo of Subtext.. ace.. picking up a tonne of Cyro-Fest flyers to distribute for 'em too..Invites for guest DJ slots etc exchanged.. we pottered off to reclaim Jason's bag, that the nice merch guy had stashed for us..

Upon which we got into a conversation with blokey there, about promo stuffs etc.. he then introduced me to Frank, the guy behind Flag.. An interesting conversation followed regarding bands etc.. Contact details, and a Greenhaus CD were exchanged.. Jason also managed to get a Greenhaus CD, as he's currently on the lookout for new tunes for games via work.. Gonna' go check out the website now I think...

So a good and productive night in all.. and i managed to get a few flyers out too..

Stuff to do today..
a/ Phone woman re: Boothill wages
b/ Eat at some point
c/Photocopy a tonne of Midian flyers
d/Distribute some of said flyers
e/Reshuffle load in times etc for bands for 1st Oct gig
f/Sort out stuff for decorating Lemon Lounge for next week
g/Try to answer some e-mails..
etc etc etc... hmm.. food first methinks..

How is it that my cat Caleb feigns selective deafness when asked to "Get off the damn shelf", or "Come here!".. but can hear a packet of crisps opening two rooms away? Hmm... i suspect a conspiracy.. or a highly developed lifeform here... i swear he's an evil genius.. he just pretends to be thick as pigshit..
