Couple of things..

Anyone know offhand how the new guidelines about betablockers will affect those who take them for panic attacks? I'll ask my doc when i next see him, but that may not be for some time. Just wondered if anyone was aware of anything. I like to know what I'm taking..

Right, this is probably really obvious, and I'm being dense, but does anyone want to explain the following? I just got dropped off outside mine in a taxi. When I came to pay, I opened the relevant bit in my bag. The money in there(a mix of brown, ''silver' and 'gold'  coins) was scorching hot, and i mean really uncomfortable to hold. I tracked down the source of heat to 2 AA Duracell batteries knocking about in my bag. They weren't attached to anything, nor had they been. They'd never been used. I had to wrap them in a tissue to dispose of them, they were that hot. Glad i got them out of the bag when i did!

You should never put batteries anywhere where they could short out (which is what has been happening with yours). They could have exploded!

Yeah, but how did they do that? I'm really unsure about these things. How do i store them in future?
Scary..

was there any lose change in the bottom of your bag? because if it banged up against the batteries it would have charged them slightly, that's why they heated up. something to do with electrons and stuff. Even if it's seperated by material, it would pass right through it like a conductor, I'm not wholey sure, this is out of my scientific league.
