Howdy!!
Some important news kiddos so listen up :D

Some of may be aware of the situation with the venue we use for Midian. After long meetings and discussions these past few days, we have been told that Hex nightclub is soon to be effectively closing in it's current incarnation. However they are willing to give us one last huzzah for a proper send off this coming Saturday. Midian for this one time only will be in the Black Room.

Which is where we come to the other part of our important news. After a good long think, myself and Jason have taken the decision to take this opportunity to take a wee break from things. Over this past year, due to circumstances beyond our control (fires and club bankrupcies being amongst them!!), we have had to have several venue changes. Sometimes these have had to be very last minute too, which isn't great. We have also been doing this for a good few years now, without a break, and it's a lot more hard work than it looks!! We're going to take the time out to evaluate where Midian carries on from here, plan some cracking gigs, plus take the time to visit some of the other fantastic nights out that this country has to offer. Onwards and upwards!!

Sooo.. what does this mean for the future? You may well ask..

We still are actively looking for bands, performers, and talented DJs from up and down the country and beyond. We are still asking for peeps who would like to work with us in various capacities to get in touch. We also will always do our utmost to support and help out in any way possible with other nights, events, shops, magazines, radio shows and websites, including flyering, guest slots, hosting bands etc etc etc.

Over the next few months we have a series of Midian events planned on an ad hoc basis, using venues specifically hand-picked for the purpose. We have some bookings lined up for this already, with more to be announced over the following months. In order to keep up-to-date with the latest news and annoucements, we strongly suggest you visit and bookmark our spangly homes on the web, which are listed below. Go looksie!

So, please please please, I ask you all to make this, our last Midian for a while, a rockin' storming one! Let's finish for the time being on a high note! I would ask that anyone who has even considered coming along to Midian, or has previously come along, please if you can make it.. come along and join us in our festive fun and frolics. And spread the news along!

Spank you all very much

Don't forget folks! The VNV Nation/[S.I.T.D] gig is imminent.. and
time is running short to buy advance tickets.

This is looking to be a fantastic gig. On Wednesday 23rd November we
have two of the biggest names on the scene playing for us on the
first date of their UK 'Formation' tour, in a rare opportunity to
see them up close and personal.

This is the official relaunch of the Hex venue, revamped,
redecorated, and re-equipped after the fire. As well as the live
music, we have the gorgeous DJ Miss616 of 616 Abortions/ Dark-cide/
Electro-cide fame providing us with dancefloor fillers between and
after bands until 2am. We also have supporting artistes in the form
of the excellent cage dancers courtesy of Poison Arts.

Don't miss out on this rare event for the area.

There are tickets still available from the places below:

In person from myself or Jason (no booking fee)
Bad Ass Boutique in Quiggins, Liverpool (with a booking fee)
The Hex website at: http://hexrock.com (small postal charge)
From Music Non Stop at: http://www.musicnonstop.co.uk (£2 extra
booking fee)
The Midian website at: http://midian.org.uk (with a small postal
charge)

Unfortunately we are unable to reserve any advance tickets that
haven't been paid for, due to the high demand for tickets. We advise
that people buy tickets in advance of the gig in order to avoid
disapointment. They're cheaper in advance too!

Ticket price in advance is £12 (plus booking fee in some areas)
Tickets on the door if still avaiable will be £14 (no concessions)
The gig is open to 14+ gig goers, full bar available to over 18s.
Parking and cloakroom available.
Doors 7pm-2am

Righto *deep breath*

FRIDAY 18th NOVEMBER
I'm gutted to have to announce the following. Due to a slight unavoidable delay in finalising the refurb of the Hex venue, and the resulting legal paperwork that this entails, Hex have asked that we cancel our After Dark/Midian night that was to be happening on the 18th of this month. This means that unfortunately we are also having to cancel the Devilish Presley/Screaming Banshee Aircrew/Zombina and the Skeletones/All Gone Dead gig that was to be happening on that date. There will be no main After dark and Midian night for the evening of the 18th Nov.

Obviously we will be doing our best to get these bands back playing for you guys at some point. I, for one was really looking forward to this line-up :( WE WILL be back for a full After Dark/Midian date on Sat Dec 10th @ Hex. We thank all our regulars and the bands and DJs involved for their patience with us through this time. Also...

WEDNESDAY 23rd NOVEMBER
HEX WILL BE OPEN IN TIME FOR VNV NATION/[S.I.T.D] on the 23rd Nov.
Hex will be relaunching fully on the evening of the 23rd, with a fantastic show from [sitd] and of course headlining we have VNV Nation. We also have DJ support from Miss616, from the fabulous Dark-cide and Electrocide nights. Additionally there will be cage dancers courtesy of Poison Arts
( http:www.poisonarts.co.uk )
There are still a few tickets available. The London stage of this tour has now sold out, and the rest of the tour is selling fast, so get them while you can.

Tickets in advance are £12
They are available (with a small booking fee) from the following places:
In person from myself or Jason (without a booking fee)
From the Hex website at: http://www.hexrock.com
From the Midian website at: http://midian.org.uk
From Music Non Stop at: http://www.musicnonstop.co.uk
From Bad Ass boutique in Quiggins in Liverpool

Tickets (if there are any left) will be £14 on the door, so it's well worth getting yours in advance if you're planning to go.

This should be a fabulous night..  I'm soo glad they managed to sort the place in time.. this should be ace!

sistercarrion: (Default)

This is rumour control speaking ;) Just some important information for you all. Please feel free to repost this, and pass it on whereever you feel is appropriate.

You may have heard on the news and via our front page of the Hex site about a fire that occured last night at the building containing Hex (evening of 13/10-14/10). Luckily no one was hurt, and there is no structural damage. Whilst this was a relatively small fire, there is quite a lot to clean up, sort out and fix. As such for the meantime we will be closed for a short time, as i'm sure you will all appreciate.

Implications and assistance )

What this means for events we have booked at Hex ie After Dark etc:

As this only happened last night, we haven't been able to fully assess damage to the venue yet, and the equipment that we use for our personal nights/gigs. We're planning a trip down there tomorrow, and should have a better idea then. The venue is planning to reopen before Halloween, as most of the damage seems to be in the foyer area, with the rest being smoke damaged. If we/they can do this, then all nights and events myself and Jason have booked there should be ok. Again i'll mention what i've said above.. we're looking for as much help as possible here. If anyone thinks they may be able to help, please please get in touch.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A HALLOWEEN PARTY NIGHT THAT I'M DJING AT, AND NOT AN AFTER DARK/MIDIAN NIGHT ie.. I'm not running or organising this event. You will get a few gothy tunes thrown in, but the emphasis is firmly on the rockier end of things, but it should be much fun!!

sistercarrion: (Carrion)
As a Infest warm-up, or if you're at a loose end this weekend, check out these
nights leading up to the weekend:

This is effectively the last Dante's Inferno, being as Yanni has now joined forces with the After Dark/Midian team.. so lets make it a good 'un!!

'Whiplash returns to the Wirral with its extreme metal barrage on Friday 26th August!

As well as Midian this coming Saturday in Hexs' Black Room, and
After Dark on the 15th in the main room, there is also something
else happening at Hex on the 23rd (Saturday) July that may tickle
some peeps fancy.

Saturday 23rd July sees them venture into a glammy special at a
night provisionally entitled Spandex at Hex!!..
They'll be covering the best (and worst) of 80s hair metal, rock
cheese, and glam metal. ie stuff like Motley Crue, Faster Pussycat,
Warrant, Europe, early Gn'R, Skid Row etc etc etc. I'll be co-DJing
alongside another one of Hexs' regulars.

Most of my stuff is on vinyl, so i'll be busy transferring it over,
and sorting out compilations over the next few weeks. Any
suggestions for bands I may otherwise miss?? My memory fails me ,
the more suggestions the better!!

Cheers dears
